THIS YEAR WILL MARK THE 3RD ANNUAL CHESTERFIELD 5K, A SAME-DAY RUNNING EVENT. Inspired by the success of 5Ks all over Macomb County, we've decided Chesterfield should get in on the fun! The morning of the North Gratiot Cruise, we will be holding the THIRD year of this event which celebrates fitness, physical health, body positivity and a sense of community.

ALL REGISTRANTS RECEIVE EVENT T-SHIRT AND MEDAL! WATER AND SNACKS ALSO PROVIDED.

We encourage advance registration, though same day registration will be available at Cruise HQ. Check -in and bib pick up will open at 8am.

Registration is facilitated through Eastside Racing Company on the platform EnMotive. It couldn't be easier! Just scan the QR code and follow the instructions!

THE DETAILS

THE 5K ROUTE

The race begins on Cotton Road with runners traveling away from Graitot Avenue. The first turn will be a right at Dove Lane, which will take runners to Sparrow Court. After a quick cross via a side path, runners will make a left onto Michelle Ann Drive. A right turn will be made on Clark Circle and then on to Celeste Street. Another right at Kelly Lee Lane wand left at Galassi Street will begin the loop in the course. To close the loop, runners will make a right onto Fuller Road past a bend in the road and another right onto Kuchenmeister Street. Participants will find themselves face-to-face with Michelle Ann Drive which begins a repeat of the first half of the course to finish the 5K where they back at Cruise Headquarters. The full course will have clear markers and indicators of the path.

THE 1K ROUTE

The 1K will be a led path around Headquarters, staying onsite for the duration. Bibs will be given to those who want them, but racing times will not be recorded.

YOUR FAVORITE SCHOOL DISTRICT CAN WIN $1K!

The local school district with the most pledged support will win $1K awarded to the athletic department! Pledged support is counted after a runner is registered and finishes the 5K or 1K. Pledged support is not just for students and alumni; it is open to everyone! Who doesn't love a good local rivalry? When you register for the 5K, make sure to signify which school district you support.

ARE YOU A COACH? ATHLETIC DIRECTOR? PRINCIPAL?

We appeal to you to consider participating in the 5K! Aside from promoting physical fitness and school unity, this is a low-cost opportunity to add a grand to your budget.

AND YOUR CHURCH CAN WIN $1K FOR THEIR YOUTH MINISTRY

We're expanding our spirit competition this year to local churches! How does it work? The area church with the most runners wins $1,000 to be used for programs within their youth ministry.

When you register for the 5K, make sure to signify that you are a church supporter.

Monitoring of the race will be provided by Eastside Racing Company, which has served the Detroit Metropolitan Area for 30 years.

 

Each runner will be given an electronic chip that will measure the distance traveled and the time it took. Results will available shortly thereafter on their website.
